Several community members have sent us their encouraging feedback after knowing about completion of 50 th month of issuance of Newsletter. In fact this was an idea of one of our newsletter committee member Mr. Nasir Ibrahim, who presented it in May 2009 to issue a monthly bulletin that could provide our community with day to day social and welfare activities of the society. The precious idea was unanimously acceded to by MWS and implemented with effect from 1 st June Al Hamdo Lillah, we have now gone across 4 years and 2 months issuing the newsletter every month regularly. All members of Newsletter Committee deserve appreciation equally. We have also received congratulations from readers and well wishers for issuing Golden Jubilee Number. No doubt, the newsletter has been a great source of updating our community with valuable and interesting information every month regularly. Newsletter Committee feels pleasure to expresses its gratitude to the entire community, particularly to it s regular readers for their kind support, cooperation and guidance through their feedbacks from time to time. As usual, we kindly request our community brothers and sisters to keep sending us their valuable advices and constructive ideas, without hesitation. Your suggestion & ideas identifying the welfare programs that can be carried out MWS to benefit our community shall be warmly welcomed. 2 Ramadan is departing Alhamdo Lillah, we have just completed first two parts of Holy Ramadan and last part is going on. In fact the whole month of Ramadan is a period of spiritual training wherein believe rs devote much of their time to fasting, praying, reciting the Quran, remembering God, and giving charity. May Allah almighty accept our fasting, recitation of holy Quran, prayers and all good deeds performed by us. Since Lailatul Qadr (last 10 days of Ramadan) and Eid Al fitar are falling during this month, we on behalf of Memon Jamat, express our good wishes to all community members. The significance of the last 10 days of the Ramadan cannot be expressed in few words. However because of the revealed importance of Lailatul Qadr, we the Muslims strive harder in the last ten days of Ramadan since this night could be one of the odd numbered days in these last ten (the first, third, fifth, seventh or ninth) which is the Night as better than one thousand months. Moreover, some of Muslims from various communities also perform an i'tikaf during these days: they remain in the mosque for the last ten days of the month for prayers and recitation. At the end of Ramadan, Eid for Muslims is a time of celebration but of a unique kind. It is a celebration of gratefulness to Allah by responding to His call through fasting this month. Eid for Muslims is a time when they remember the poor by giving charity before the Eid prayer so the poor can use it to enjoy on such a day what they might be missing on other days. Let us promise ourselves to be more careful and caring while dealing with our brothers in Islam as well as non Muslim, cleanse our hearts and tongues and perfect our current and onward dealings. Let us make a pledge to continue performing it for the rest of the year. May Allah almighty bless us and our families with peace, tranquillity, strong Iman, and healthy and active lives. May He give us the best of this world and the Hereafter. Ameen.

3 The Welfare Services of Memon Welfare Society Helping poor students for education fee Helping Community members for health care for those who cannot afford Helping in Coffin & Burial Services Helping & guiding unemployed in seeking employment Voluntarily Matrimonial services Beside above we are assisting some Madrassa by paying fees of needy students and school where the students will receive free education who cannot afford even the nominal fee. We also hold other social & welfare activities for our community such as Seminar, Families get to gather together, Career guidance sessions, evening with scholar, and also help financially and materially the victims of natural disaster such as flood in Pakistan and Earth quake etc. During last one year we have sent five shipments of used clothes for poor people in Pakistan & India. We also collect unused medicines for free medical camps organized by Pakistan welfare Society in Consulate General of Pakistan Jeddah. No doubt, Memon Welfare Society is playing a significant role by providing an opportunity to the community families to meet, greet and eat together from time to time, which is a piece of good fortune. It is worth mentioning that we have various committees to undertake their respective responsibilities and assignments. In brief MWS is purely social and welfare forum to serve the community and humanity.

4 Brief Report An Ifter & Dinner held on 22 nd July 2013 corresponding 13 th Ramadan 1434H at La Sani Restaurant, Madina Road, Jeddah As usual, this year also an iftar with dinner was arranged by MWS for male members of our community which was attended by almost 125 brothers that include doctor, engineer and businessmen and servicemen. Some well wisher of MWS offered their apology for not being able to attend due to prior official or personal commitment. However, we express thanks to all who attended the event. After Iftar and Magrib prayer but before Dinner, a small session of 15 minutes took place wherein GS of MWS gave a detailed report to the audience about collection of Zakat in Last Ramadan (76K) and its complete utilization during the year in different areas such as Education, Medical Care, frequent Shipment of used clothes for poor and needy in Pakistan and India and Iqama renewal or transfer assistance to very needy, poor and genuinely deserving brothers. Among them the case referred by the Consulate General Pakistan is also included. GS also explained the audience about the transparent procedure of receiving application for help and processing it through a nominated committee for this purpose who gives approval and then finally treasurer disburse help with consultation of President and GS. Honesty is on the top in processing a application, however, unintentional human error can occur any time. May Allah forgive us. Al hamdo lillah, this Ramadan we were able to collect enough Zakat during Iftar event (53K). We do also expect some more from businessmen. President and all board members convey heartiest thanks to all brothers who have contributed generously and always extend their support and kind cooperation to MWS. 7 Just to update community,,,,,,,,,,,,,, MWS Events/Programs in Near Future: ANNOUNCEMENT 2nd Back to School & Prize Distribution Event As per approval of Board of MWS, a back to school event and 2 nd Prize distribution to meritorious students of the year 2012 & 2013 as well as 5 th Anniversary of MWS Celebration will take place some time during September THIS WILL BE FAMILY EVENT. Please send copy of result of your children (male & female) until 5 th September 2013 if your children meet following criteria to receive an award: 1. Student must be Iqama holders regardless of the place of their studies. 2. Those who have completed Hifz-e-Quran, Engineering, Doctorate in any discipline, CA, MBA during 2012/ Those who have completed grade 10 (matric or O Level) and grade 12 (intermediate or A Level) with more than 90% Marks during 2012/ Those who have completed grade 1 to grade 8 with more than 90% Marks during 2012/2013 must have achieved rank 1 st 2 nd or 3 rd in his or her class. 5. 8 Little smile A Businessman approach An old Lady died in USA, where she was staying with her daughter. Daughter made arrangements for the body to be sent back to Pakistan. On top of the coffin was a letter which said; " " Dear Bhai, I am sending AMMA's body to Pakistan, as it was her wish to be buried in Pakistan. Under AMMA's body are 12 cans of cheese for your little boy Ali, 10 packs of chocolates for your cute little Meena & 8 packs of perfumes for your wife. AMMA is wearing a brand new pair of REEBOK shoes for Rafiq bhai and there two pairs shoes stuffed on left-side of the coffin for Jubaida & Jabeen. AMMA is wearing 6 brand new NIKE t-shirts, large one is for Sattar bhai other four are for his boys. She is also wearing two LEVI'S jeans for the boys. She is also wearing Swiss made ROLEX watch on her left hand for Johra Baji and gold necklace and earings for Kulsoom Aunty.
